Three years in the making. I have an affinity for dogs and a passion for training. I have spent years through working directly with skilled trainers in various areas and skills. I have audited other trainers, attended classes and seminars both in person and online perfecting this craft!
All of my breeding dogs have their CHIC numbers from the OFA. These means that all testing required by the Collie Health Foundation is completed.

Breeding is a science and a passion. It starts with loving a breed so much, that you want to make it better! For some, that is proving your dogs in Confirmation. For me, it is using dogs with a working dog background. I worked everything that makes a Collie... their proportionate weight/height, their soft intelligent look, their coat, structure, gait, temperament, herding ability, and turned them into working Service Dogs.
My dogs are being bred to hopefully have puppies with long careers in the Service Dog World. My goal is an 80% rate of making finished dogs, which means completing two years of training.

I am a disabled mom to 3 disabled children, one being profound. When the idea of getting a Service Dog for her would be a good thing, I started researching. I researched for years. However, I found programs hard. The process was expensive and complicated. There were more unscrupulous trainers, then dedicated ones. After so much research, I decided on a breed, and to use my training background along with auditing other dedicated trainers and getting involved with AKC obedience training. We got our first Rough Collie.
I fell in love with the breed, more then just an "Oh Look, Lassie!" These dogs are versatile and willing to please. Normally, a herding breed is not recommended for physc related tasks. A Collie, however is a different story. Their calm dedication to their person is amazing to watch. They can go all day running around with you, or stay in bed with you.
The Hart of Fair Bluff Collies is born! I have 2 breeding dogs, and will add Piper next year when she is finished growing and training. This hybrid program consists of....
- A behaviorist who will be evaluating the litter at 7 weeks. Only those puppies who scores high enough will be part of the Service Dog Program. The others will go to approved pet/performance homes.
- Litter raised with Early Neural Stimulation (ENS) and Puppy Culture (PC).
- All breeding pairs will have completed health testing per their Breed Club Standards and received their CHIC numbers from OFA
- Service Dogs in Training will be kept for 12 weeks. All socialization, which is imperative for their future encounters, will be personally handled by myself and my family. Pet and performance dogs will go home at 8 weeks of age.
- All contracts will be individualized to your needs and location. Written into your contract will be several steps of training. You will go to classes that are as local as I can make them. You will be paying for those separately, directly to the facility. It will also call for 2-3 times of 2 to 3 weeks board and train. This will be individual per team, and dependant on what tasks are needed. This will be decided by the facility that board and trains. If there is someone recognized near you that is ethical, this requiment may be altered in writing only to private lessons.
- You do not get to chose your puppy. Puppies will be placed according to scoring via a behaviorist. If you do not want a specific sex or color, state that on your application.
- All puppies will be microchipped before leaving. The chip will contain both your name and mine.
- All puppies will be AKC registered prior to leaving. The kennel name "The Hart of Fair Bluffs..." will be in their name. The rest of their registered name the owner/handler may choose.
- All Service Dog in Training puppies will go home as a co own. This co-own will be removed once the training contract is fulfilled and the dog is a fully task trained Service Dog.
- All Service Dog in Training handlers will meet with me weekly for the first month via Zoom. During the second and third months we will meet bi-weekly. For the next three months we will meet monthly. We will meet every three months after that until training is complete around age two.
- All puppies will go home on a limited registration. If someone is interested in Confirmation or working to at least an Obedience Chamionship the pup may go home with full registration as a co own only. Co-own will be removed once the dog has achieved a CH title.
- I do not charge more for color or full registration. Full registration, as stated earlier are on a co-own contract.
- I am working towards getting the Service Dog Program as a 501c-3. The program will release the puppies as if The Hart of Fair Bluffs already operates as a non-profit. In other words, Service Dog Program puppies are placed, deeply discounted!
- Shipping via a flight nanny, or by vehicle is the Handlers financial responsibility. This may be reevaluated once non profit status is received, and grants/funding/donations are available for the Service Dog Program only.
- There is a $50 processing fee. Applications will be verified. Service Dog applications must include a doctor's letter stating that you have a disability and the physician feels a Service Dog would help mitigate your disability. The letter must be from your TREATING physician.
Processing fees will go towards the cost of the puppy.
- I do not accept child handlers under the age of 12 for my program. There are many studies out that having a Service Dog too early, inhibits the child learning coping skills. They become too dependent on the dog. If you are looking for a puppy outside of the program, you may pay full price. If you want the socialization period to be completed by me, it would be at a board and train price.
- I take 100% of responsibility for my pups. If you need to rehome, they are required to come to me.
- All puppies will have their proper shots/dewormer/health certificates completed by a licensed Veterinarian. All puppies have a 3 year health guarantee from any genetic issues. Not covered are accidents or injuries. I will replace the puppy/dog in the event of a genetic issues.
- All of my dogs are genetically cleared for Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA). They are also cleared by a Board Certified
Opthamologist. This means that all puppies are cleared by parentage. However, I suggest getting this clearance for every Collie, as well as other affected herding breeds.
- Please join the Face Book group to keep up with all litters and all accomplishments!
